James A. Douglas
is the founder and Master Plumber of JAD Plumbing, a company he began in 2008. What started as a search for steady work quickly became a lifelong calling, as James discovered how deeply the plumbing trade impacts the health, safety, and comfort of the community. Over the past 15+ years, he has honed his expertise through serving hundreds of families and businesses throughout Prince George’s County, Anne Arundel County, and the surrounding areas.
James finds joy in ensuring that every customer receives the highest level of professionalism and care. His work is rooted in integrity and dedication; values that have shaped not only the growth of JAD Plumbing but also the trust the company has built with the community it serves.
Beyond running the business, James is a proud father of six and a devoted husband. He attributes much of his success to his wife’s steady support and encouragement, which has been a constant source of strength throughout his career. Together they embody the same values of hard work, sacrifice, and service that JAD Plumbing strives to deliver to every client.
Will Bishop
Will Bishop has built his life and career around hard work and a strong sense of purpose. With experience spanning a butcher shop, goat farm, auto shop, and many construction sites, Will has always found ways to stay active and engaged through hands-on work. His diverse background has given him not only practical skills but also a deep appreciation for the value of a job well done.
In August of 2024, Will made the move from rural Georgia to Annapolis, Maryland, seeking new opportunities to grow within the trades. It was through his local church that he connected with James Douglas, and when he learned that JAD Plumbing was looking for an apprentice, Will knew it was the perfect fit. His natural work ethic, eagerness to learn, and commitment to excellence quickly set him apart as a valuable member of the team.
Will is especially grateful for the chance to develop under the mentorship of Master Plumber James Douglas and the rest of the JAD Plumbing crew. He sees this opportunity not only as a career step but also as a way to serve the community with integrity and professionalism. With his dedication to growth and his willingness to take on any challenge, Will is excited to continue building his future in the plumbing trade.
Seth Smith
Seth Smith’s background has been shaped by a strong work ethic and a love for hands-on projects. After moving to Georgia at the age of six, he spent much of his childhood growing up around a local farm where he quickly learned the value of hard work, attentiveness, and seeing a job through to completion. As he grew older, Seth transitioned into the trades, gaining experience through shower remodeling and specializing in the installation of heavy shower glass. These experiences gave him a strong foundation in construction and an appreciation for the precision and care that quality workmanship requires.
After several years of working in the remodeling and construction industry, Seth moved to Maryland to pursue the next step in his career through the plumbing trade. He joined JAD Plumbing and Gas Fitting as a plumbing apprentice, where he is eager to continue developing his skills under the guidance of experienced professionals. Seth approaches his work with a quiet and intentional demeanor, taking the time to assess details and complete each task properly. He takes pride in doing his work well and is committed to becoming the best craftsman he can be to better serve his community!
Outside of work, Seth enjoys music and movies and appreciates the occasional good book. While he tends to be more reserved, he values meaningful work, continual growth, and the opportunity to use his skills to help others. As he begins this new chapter in Maryland and in the plumbing trade, Seth looks forward to building on his experience in the trades and becoming a dependable member of the JAD team!

Audrey Patterson serves as our Social Media and Marketing Manager. A native of the Annapolis area, Audrey met James Douglas through church, and after graduating from Virginia Tech in May 2025 with a BFA in Graphic Design, she officially joined the JAD Plumbing team.
Audrey brings a strong background in design and communication, shaped by her apprenticeship with a local designer, an internship at a Baltimore print house, and a variety of freelance projects focused on logo design and brand development. She thrives on the variety her role at JAD Plumbing provides, and especially enjoys creating Tales From the Tap, the company’s weekly comic series that blends her storytelling passion with her design skills.
Outside of work, Audrey’s creativity continues to flourish. She’s often experimenting with new artistic mediums such as embroidery, bookmaking, woodblock printing, laser engraving, or painting. She also enjoys hiking and tubing in the Shenandoah, cozy movie nights with friends, and immersing herself in the classic mysteries of Agatha Christie—particularly those featuring Poirot.
With her artistic eye, narrative passion, and commitment to excellence, she plays a vital role in shaping the voice and image of the company while keeping its community presence strong and approachable.
Core Values
Duty From Above
Above Dignity for All People
Love for Hard Work
Love for Knowledge and Wisdom
Love for the Craft
Love for Family
Love for Country
We live in complex world with many different names and faces yet we all seem to have a common understanding of right and wrong. We believe that comes from a common creator who expects from all of us to abide by his rules and at the end of it all he’ll deal accordingly with all of us.
Therefore, we hope to honor and respect our creator as he watched over us by doing what is right for our clients and local community.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Duty From Above
On the surface, naturally people are taxing and hard to get along with. There are so many desires and expectations floating around, all at once, like balloons. As we go about our lives interacting with one another even the smallest prick of misunderstanding is sharp enough to erupt our emotions and we can lose all composure. But deep down, we just want to be heard, accepted and loved.
Therefore, we will lift up others around us by showing honor to our clients and local community.
Matthew 7:12
Dignity for All People
Blood, sweat and tears. The perfect recipe for building a life for yourself. Nature has a way of teaching us the importance of laboring when the time is right so that when harsh times come, we’ll have just what we need.
Therefore, we will be working diligently for clients and community so they are well taken care of for the days ahead.
Proverbs 6:6-8
Love for Hard Work
A fool says in his heart that he knows all that can be known and even worse he thinks he knows how to apply his knowledge perfectly.
Therefore we will always be learning new ways to improve what we do and how we do it.
Proverbs 16:16
Love for Knowledge and Wisdom
Whatever happened to the Renaissance man? One who was skillful, intelligent, observant, eager to refine his work and was a pillar in his community. Have we forgotten that our community cannot strive without skilled tradesmen who are true craftsmen in their trade. We must not settle for sloppy, half-effort, unaesthetic work. Plumb is plumb.
Therefore, our work must stand out and pay homage to all those who made our trade what it is today!
Love for the Craft
After our creator, family is second most important. The family is the most important institution in our community. How a father loves and serves his wife and how a wife loves and protects her children and how children respect and honor their parents creates a society of loving, serving, protecting and honoring citizens. This institution must be protected and held in high esteem.
Therefore we will support families across our community by helping their homes and business thrive with great care and service of their needs.
Love for Family
God bless these United States of America! Land of the free and home to the brave. It’s the opportunity this country has afforded all of us that keeps us searching and pursuing higher places and new beginnings. Beyond each horizon of opportunity lie adventures of experience and breath taking thrills of not knowing what the future will hold. We can have a confidence that together and united we will move forward to a common prosperity that will last for many generations to come.
Therefore, we will support our nation and its heroes of service by doing everything with excellence and honor to leave a lasting legacy.
Love for Country
